Philippe Meyer
Philippe MEYER (1925-2007) was one of the actors of the revival of Theoretical Physics in France in the late 50’s, early 60’s.

The Philippe Meyer Institute for Theoretical Physics is part of the Physics department of Ecole normale supérieure. It was founded in february 2012 in memory of Philippe Meyer. Its goal is to promote research in theoretical physics at the ENS and participate in the training of young theorists.
The Institute is funding and managing a certain number of postdoctoral research positions in the Physics department, as well as a visiting program for scientific personalities. It also contributes to the organization of the biannual Philippe Meyer prize in theoretical physics.
